Today I got a very interesting story on digitalpoint forums by an old aged member of DP (Arasp from Iran). He has a cheque issued by Google as a reward of his adsense account but he could not cash due to Iran and USA political relations.

Here is the story!

As you guys see my join date here, I am one of those stoned aged members of DP. lol

I want to show you how dirty the politics can be !
And This is the politics that makes people to be apart.
I am not sure if this forum is the right forum for my story but since it is related to adsense, I prefer to put it in the adsense forum. Move it if it is not in the right board.

Many years ago, when Adsense had already started its program I was one of the first men who joined the program. Soon I earned enough money to be sent to my local address in Tehran – Iran.

Guess what happened! I got the cheque and went to bank to change it to money. They told me Iran does not have any diplomatic relationship with USA since the past 25 years, contact Google to ask them send it to another bank account in Switzerland.

Anyway, after I emailed google:

Iran was banned from the list of countries in the whole Google services.
My Adsense Account was banned. (Because I am Persian)
Google did not send any other check to Iran !

It seems Google did not know that it cannot have relations with Iran by that time and since, I was the only person who got Check in Iran, they ‘ all of a sudden noticed that. Damn ! I was a nice victim ! what the hell ! They cannot not be against American Government.

Anyway, this is the picture of the ONLY google Adsense Cheque to Iran.
I have held this cheque as the memorial of IRAN ~ USA positive relations. (It did not stopped in 1978, I happened in 2004 . lol !

I can’t believe such mistake by Google but we have to justify it as those were just early days of Google! But still hard to believe….
